 Topic: What is this bracket?

What is this bracket on the cross piece of the lift arms on my 45? It looks like its supposed to be there, but doesnt look like it doesnt do anything.

I have the same thing but longer on my WD45.Like others have said some type of top link.

I've seen a few of the homemade toplink brackets; I even made one for my own WD.
However, unless this has been cut off (which it doesn't look like it has been) there is no place to attach the end of the toplink. That looks like a typical square head setscrew used on many A-C things but why would it be there since the toplink bracket has to be free to move on the shaft. Also.....i have a clamp on each side of my bracket to keep it centered. The only thing I see that would keep this bracket "located" is that setscrew.
I know..........I posed a lot of questions but did not answer the question. LOL

I was kind of thinking the same thing Brian. That bracket looks like it has been there a long time from the condition of the paint and the square nut. Same situation here, I don't know what it is either.

It looks like a brace attachment for something that moves with the hydralic arms, maybe a post hole digger or lift arms.

This piece is used for locking the top link in place so it doesn't slide back and forth. There should be 2 of them, one for both sides of the toplink. It is home made, I have 2 of them. They just squeeze down on the rock shaft to keep it from sliding.
