I purchased a power unit advertized as a W25.  That should have a WC block.  This block is not WC.  The unit has the 45 degree exhaust manifold, small carburetor, and older magneto correct for an early WC but the engine has a 4 inch high head with relieved spark plug holes making the plugs more accessable.  The block does not have the mounting for the by-pass oil filter, has a pad for a fuel pump, no valve access cover on the magneto side, and a rather large buldge  from the camshaft down toward the pan.  It also has a boss in the casting, not machined out, that looks like it is for  a distributor.  It has a 4 bolt pattern above right that looks like the spot for mounting the coil on a D17 motor.   I cannot read the serial number but it looks like the last digit may be a G.  Can anyone identify this engine?  Thank you.

Check for the block casting number in raised letters below the magneto on the right
hand side of the block. It should say U3019-31 or AM3825-7 or something like that.

Sounds like a Leroi engine I saw in a drag line once. It might have Leroi stamped on the rear flange.
