The radiator removed from my 1941 WF has a couple of unusual features that I have not seen before but I have never had a styled WC or WF.  It has the remains of what looks like an overflow tube sticking out the bottom of the upper tank.  It is almost in the middle of that tank.  Also the the fill spout on top is different so that water caps for the WD will not fit on it.  The spout almost looks like a gas tank cap would fit on it.  Is this a WF radiator?  If so, what is the purpose of the tube coming out of the bottom of the upper tank.  Did the WF have a different spill spout than the WD?  THANKS.

early WC and WF had nonpressure radiator. my 39 WC takes the same cap as the gas tank without the little vent hole.

Here is an unstyled WC radiator. The fuel and radiator caps are the same, only the fuel cap is vented. A WD has a pressurized system, that cap will not fit an "open" system.

When I filled the WC radiator, I filled it up to the overflow tube in the top tank. After working it a little, some coolant did come out of the overflow tube, but just from expansion, not pressure.

I think the WC's and WF's shared a lot of parts, both styled and unstyled?

Now I am wondering again.  Someone has capped the overflow line inside the radiator so it will no longer do its function.  Thinking that I should remove the cap on the overflow line and put an extension on the stub sticking out the bottom of the upper tank.  Am I thinking straight?  On the other hand, what will happen if I run it with the overflow line capped?

Wish I had a picture of down inside the radiator. The overflow tube has a cap on it. You should be able to spin the cap on the tube.
