after 51 years of doing the same job, I am retired! can't decide if I am happy, or not, but I'm done!
I am still confident of this;
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Ps 27

It won't be long until you start thinking "how did I ever have time for a full time job? " I know I've been very happy retired. Congrats Thumbs Up

Congrats Lou.  You will catch on to the retirement thing pretty quick.  It is an adjustment, but you will get used to not having to get up every morning and go to work.  Just remember that every day is Saturday.  You'll do fine.  I have 8 years of experience being retired, if you need some advice, I can coach you on doing it right.  LOL.

We'll have to do breakfast sometime real soon.  I'll send you a PM with my contact info.  You pick the place and I'll buy.

Yes, contratulations and welcome to "i get to do what I want to do" ... at least part of the time.     I retired last July after only 42 years... that does not count 5 years in the seminary. So now I tell people I can do 'priest' work without haveing to worry about finances or buildings,,, etc.     And Yes you will have to get used to the new schedule, but that does not take long.  peace,

Congratulations Lou, enjoy your retirement.  When you get tired of retirement, you can start up a consulting firm and charge the old company twice the price. LOL
  And I want you to be happy so I say be happy and enjoy your new found freedom(s).

To be completely correct, I stated that wrong. I did the same job, but for three different companies. I was 20 when I started with the first company, left after 5 years for a better offer, worked for them for 27 years, until they kicked me to the curb, and then 19 years with the most recent company.

Congratulations on your retirement!  Hope you enjoy many years of it,

I "retired" 20 years ago then bought a small farm and started another side business!  I don't think I'll ever really retire!

Dixie keeps after me to retire. I think about it sometimes for a few seconds. I then start thinking about another project that I need to work on.  Told people when I was in my 20's I probly would never retire. I guess I knew me well back then.   I don't do the factory as many hours a day anymore.

I am happy for those that can retire in good health and be content.
