garage and decided to sell on Facebook Marketplace! Hadn't been ridden for 6 or 7 years since all the kids, nieces and nephews had headed off to college.  It was time for them to move on so priced them "right" and listed both as "Non-Running, Needs Carb work and batteries, etc" .  Lord the questions and offers that came through.  I started getting creative with my responses:

"Are they still available"  .....No, I just keep this chit out there for entertainment
"Will you take 1/2" ......Sure, as long as you bring the other 1/2
"What kind of gas did you use"  ......the cheapest I could find.
"Trade for a Shotgun?" ......Is your shotgun worth $1,800?  His response was "no, $300"
"What's your best price".......$500 more than I'm asking but trying to move these quick.
"What's wrong with the battery".  .....Not sure, need to take it to a battery mechanic
My favorite:  "Can I hear the non-running one run?" ....You might want to look elsewhere.

Mercy, there's some folks out there......Confused

I’ve gotten to where I won’t sell anything. I don’t want these yo-yos coming around.
Also any time I go to buy something I ask my self, is this something you may want to sell in the future?
When I look on market place (which I do way too often) I see half the stuff for sale doesn’t have a title.
Always a you can get one real easy response. Well then why didn’t you go through those easy steps and get one?

Drove 3 hours one way to Lake of the Ozarks last winter to buy a like new equipment trailer.  Asked the title question in advance with a "yes, we do have title in hand".  When I got there the title wasn't in their name but the name of the company where the "supposedly" had purchased the trailer.  Said they were a Dealer and "didn't have to retitle and didn't want to pay sales tax".  The more I looked at it the more it looked fake.  I backed out of the deal and cussed myself all the way home while also patting myself on the back.  Good lesson learned and now know the additional question to ask.

I  bought a 92 dodge diesel pickup about 20 years ago.  The price was right but it was near Detroit, MI, over a thousand miles from me.  Seller assured me he had the title and met me at the airport with the truck and title.  It was in his dad's name and it had a lien on it. The seller told me he would send me the new title when it came. I was kind of stuck so I got the bill of sale and questionable title and headed home.  Got home, a bit of an adventure, but made it.  Called him and emailed him several times, never heard back.  Gave my cousin in Ohio the Vin # and he had his bank, First third, the lien holder, check it out.  The bank told him to tell me to call the police.  I'm working on putting the engine in my bucket truck, hope to finish it this winter.  "Life is an adventure!"
