I thought I would remove the oil lines to the turbo on my 190XT to make installing the injector lines easier and wouldn't you know it lay a wrench on the pressure line and the fitting breaks off in the turbo bearing housing (in my defence it was cracked half way already.) Brass out of aluminum my the combintion I love the most. Well I ended up cracking the bearing housing trying get it out, so now I guess it is time to find another Turbo. Has anyone tried a used turbo?

Work tractor you depend on: New/Rebuilt turbo, Show tractor/play toy: used turbo if the price is right. When I needed a new turbo for my 7000, it wasn't much difference in price between new and used (used was going to run around $300 shipped if I remember correctly, and new was around $550), and I could drive and pick up the new one that day about 40 minutes from my house. Plus, you have a warranty, all the gaskets you need, and peace of mind.

No, I had been watching this one sitting in a fence row near where I bale hay. It was just sitting for about 4 years. I think all it had done the last few years it was used was to pull a 10 ft brush hog for 1 day a year. I looked around the one that Rick has there at Syracuse Implement, it seems to be in pretty good shape.

What brand is your turbo? That could make a difference on price. A air reserch won't replace a TRW woth out changing cross over and other pluming. MACK

Has anyone rebuilt their own turbo? I found a good core turbo and I am going to try to rebuild mine using the bearing housing from the core turbo. Does anyone know where I can get seal kit for a TRW turbo? Does Agco still sell them? Does anyone have any tips this will be the frist complete turbo rebuild that I've done, but I'm a very experance mechanic and there hasn't been able to rebuild once I started.

If I remember right the nut on compresser is left hand thread. Be carefull the shaft is small and will bend easy. Been a while since I worked on one. MACK
