Guessing 2500 give or take. That's what a 3406E CAT is roughly and that's 896 CAiD

What was a match to the Big Al ? As in Cat, Cummins, or other brands of the day, thinking about clutch parts etc that may interchange

Cummins NTC/N14 was 855 cubes and AC was 844....to me, that's the same class size.

Quite interesting info there; pity the purple powerhouse never took off; could have been ACs saviour.
for comparison the yellow fellows 1693TA had specs as follows 425hp@2100. 1275ft/lb@1400. 893 cubes and 3335lb weight. Don't have bsfc but it would have been a lot more thirsty |

I have a neighbour who has a good collection of Allis parts. I mentioned these engines and he said "I've got a 25000 with aftercoolers but the turbo is gone" and he thinks it came off a genset.
Can we get a quick pedigree please?
