I am thinking about rigging up a set of duals for a WD45. I am sure one of you members has done this. My question is, how or what did you use for a spacer between the hubs? Pictures would be helpful!

I run clamp-on duals on the WD45's, let's it stay on top in wet ground.

3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

Mine came with duals when I bought it. They are just regular clamp on duals from what I can tell.

There are lots of methods, but I think a set of clamp on T-rails is the easiest like mine and the above people use. My duals have a 10" spacer band on the dual rims instead of a more normal 8". I don't really like how wide they are but that's what I found for a decent price. I have a set of unverferth eyelets that attach to the rails on the tractor rim. Then the J-hooks go through the dual rim and loop through the eyelet. When you find some, make sure to run several PSI lower in the duals. You want your tractor tires to carry most of the weight. The final drives weren't really made for duals like a modern tractor.

Discing moldboard plowed ground with duals makes a huge difference in the tractors and the discs performance. As a teen, I noticed there were times the disc had issues wiping out the tractors tire tracks in plowed ground. So, you either ran the disc a little deeper or just tolerated the job you were doing. Installing duals eliminated the problem and the tractor looked way cool.

Mine have eyes welded on the ends of the rails for clamp-on type,--I never use them, too much extra weight for my use.
I used to help a neighbor back in 1965 that ran the clamp-on type on his 45 and on a wd, they worked ok, so I would say that type was the norm.

i have heard of people running another set of spinouts and turning the center back to back and bolting through both. but not something ive been around
