Need to drain and add power steering fluid on a wd45 tractor.  Do i use dextron II for the fluid?  What is the best way to drain the old fluid?  I put in hydraulic fluid and that does not work well need to drain it out

we always used ATF TYPE F in ours which they call MERCRON now. That was back in the 60s and 70s......that's what our book originally called for.

On dealer installed Char-Lynn units, Dad always used 20W-20 in power steering, crankcase and hydraulics!  (Time period:  from about 1953 to about 1970's)  R. Musgrave
