I was driving down the road over the weekend and saw an Allis for sale. I thought I would stop and look at it. I had no intention of buying it, but do appreciate looking at any Allis Chalmers tractors. This was a factory wide front, factory power steering tractor, good sheetmetal all around. Nearly new rear tires. The for sale sign had a price of $3900. It had a really really dull paint job on it ( like absolutely no shine at all ). I thought the price seemed high especially for the appearance of the paint. I pulled the crankcase dipstick...... milky as can be. But my point is what would the selling value be for a tractor like this be with or without milky crankcase oil? I was thinking $2500-$3000 tops without milky oil.

I don't think I could get past the milky oil. It might be just a core plug rusted out in the head but if it has been run that way??? I wouldn't go over $1500. You might get that back parting it out if it has real engine problems and that won't pay for your time or hauling expenses. JMO

Those rears are near 1000.00. Power steering is a big asset. Good tin a plus. Rub out the paint to shine. Everything else ok. She might bring 3000.00 Maybe.  Just remembered the milkey oil. Deduct for that remedy.

Not sure about if it had been ran with the milky oil or not. The tractor was in an individuals yard, I didn't even attempt to see if anyone was home or not. As for polishing it to a shine, this paint job was the equivalent to olive drab (only orange). As I said, I had no intention of buying the tractor at the time and I still don't. If anyone on here is interested in it, I can snap a couple of pics of it and send them with the contact information. Its located in western Kentucky.
