The restoration series at tractor supply seems to work OK, leans more to the PO #2 though than PO #1 but personally for a work tractor I don't mind at all.

I used the Valspar Paint from Fleet farm lokked good. and went on easy. I'm not a good painter. after about 15 years sitting in the sun it faded back to the color it was befor paint. My Nephew used the paint from tractor supply when he painted his 4H project 5 or 6 years ago it still looks good.

My kid did a cub with IH red from TSC. In one year, without a doubt, it looks like horse puckey. It this East Texas humidity it grew black mildew all over and is the same color now as the tires. Think its cheap paint? It is. My CA painted 2 years ago with cheap PPG OMNI under the same conditions looks like new.

I'v had a suggestion of epoxy primer, claims its good to 1200 degrees and won't come off an engine.  I will be able to tell you more when I get the WC done.  I have the primer and PPG #60080, got both from Keystone.

I think a major question would be, will it sit outside or in?

Hello Benny  You don't need hi temp paint, only the exhaust manifold gets hot enough to burn paint.   The statements made about cheap/expensive paint are true.  PO#1 was used from 1930-1960 pumpkin orange,  remember it's your tractor.
