After mowing my warm season cover crop this summer, I had a 10 acre zone in a 50 acre field that needed some lime. I had bought this New Idea 101 spreader in Indiana a few years ago for this purpose, so finally got to use it. It did a good job of spreading, but the lime could have been drier so as not to bridge over. I had to stop too many times to poke the lime. I used the Ben Gay that night. Never the less it was enjoyable. A side note, on the way home from IN we drove through Coldwater, OH right past the old New Idea factory where it had been made decades ago.

geez , I remember shoveling lime off the truck into one of these... then enjoying the break while grand dad spread the load...

Gotta love them old drop spreaders, straight lines up & down the field !  We use to use them preparing tobacco ground before we bedded up th e rows. The dump brings back memories..... USMC 3531  heavy vehicle operator !!Thumbs Up    keith so. va.
