Hi, I have a 1953 allis chalmers wd45 it is missing badly on regular idle, and also is starting to miss on high idle. It has new plugs, wires and distributer cap. The valves have been adjusted, and the carburator has been rebuilt. Any ideas on what else it could be?
Thanks, Joel

My WD did the same thing it drove me nuts. Found out the gaskets on the intake part of the manifold were cracked and alittle piece was missing. It sounded like a johnny popper 2 cyl. I checked it by spraying Gum-out around the manifold. Hope this helps

I assume that you have the plug wires on correctly. You might 1st check to find out which cylinder is missing. The change in sound of the engine running will help. Can do this by grounding out different cylinders with it running. You might have a valve hanging up, burnt valve or a manifold leak. Hope this will give you some ideas. - AL
