    Posted: 22 Dec 2010 at 9:23am
Hi All,
Has anyone attempted to put a gas gauge on a WD-45?  I am wondering if a D-12 can be adapted to fit a 45 gas tank?
Thanks, Ted

I had a gauge for 14-17 don't know exactly but I traded it for something I thought I needed more. I had considered trying to mount it on the 45 but I have a yard stick in the shed buy the tractor so I use that while checking oil and water before starting.

I had a 45 Diesel that had the fuel gauge as part of the fuel cap.  I'd like to have something like that on my 45 gas.

I've got an aftermarket gauge.  Goes in the hole and has a float similar to a lawnmower one.  I'll get a picture of it this afternoon so you can see.

Fuel Gage Parts

1ea. p/n 4026K25 gage

1ea. p/n 4034K2 Porus Disc Snubber (restrictor/filter)

1ea. 1/8 NPT to 1/4 NPT adapter fitting (hardware store item)

www.mcmaster.com

Here are the parts to put a gage in the unused port of the fuel sediment bulb assembly. I put this on my WD45 and it works perfectly. It is actually a very low reading pressure gage like you would read natural gas pressure with. I remarked the face of the gage with orange dymo tape in 3 gallon increments. I used to have some pictures in this site or the other one but I can't find them now.
