I have a WD45 that I am in the process of restoring. I purchased a replacement fuel tank saddle/support and it does not have the post for the Bell Crank on it, but it has a clean hole for the post/clovis pin. The old one appears to have the postwelded onto it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a replacement? Thanks.

Get a Grade 5 bolt long enough to cut off the head and the threads and weld it in place after you drill the hole for the cotter pin.

When I was rebuilding one of my WD 45s it was missing the headlight mount on one side I got one from EBay and it just had a hole where the belcrank should be it only took a few minutes to cut drill and weld on a piece of round stock it's been working for years I welded it on the inside so you can't see the weld anyway.

K3MS,
Welcome! Some pictures of your tractor and your progress would be great if you have time. I agree welding a bolt on in that position should work. Just need the correct length and location of the cotter pin hole. This last one I did had some really rough welds. Either the welder was having a really bad day at the Allis plant or it had been repaired, and not very well! Thinking about it that one piece on the tractor is very important and has many functions. gas tank support bell crank pivot support bell crank spring attachment Hydraulic bracket support choke rod pivot Light pocket supports Attachment for air cleaner Attachment for starter cable Regards, Chris

Where did the “new” part come from? If it’s an aftermarket reproduction, they need to know that it is not totally as it should be.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Rather than have someone weld a post im, why not try to find a used part that is in good shape? There are a lot of used ones out there in good shape.
