I have a 1953 AC WD that I bought with a WD45 carburetor. I assume it also has a WD45 air cleaner because I think the WD air cleaner is smaller.
Well, the problem I have is that the air cleaner is resting against the exhaust manifold and previously burned a hole in the air cleaner shell.
What do you recommend to make it fit better?
I was thinking of slotting the bolt holes so the air cleaner can move further away, but I thought I'd ask you experts first. I'm sure someone has put a WD45 carb and air cleaner on a WD before and I'd like to find out what you did.

An original WD45 manifold or most of the current universal replacement (WC,WD,WD45,early D17) manifolds work better than an original WC/WD manifold with the 45 air cleaner. You can carefully grind your manifold for clearance, it does not take very much, I've done that before. Kip
