I have an approximately '49 WD fixing up. Jumps out of third gear. How tough and complicated is it to fix? I assume it requires some part-taking out the back end by the differential? Or through the front by taking motor out?

Get it at least as far apart as the above picture, then take the trans gears out throught the top. Yes, it is ALOT of work, but anybody can do it with some time, patience, and basic hand tools.
