Good evening a’ll
Decide to pull the engine pan to see what was in there due to finding dirt/ sludge on the dipstick.
Found the oil pump screen almost plugged and lots of sludge in the bottom of the pan.
Should I check/ do anymore than clean it up and reassemble?
Ran just fine (as of the last it got ran a couple weeks ago) but thought I might try to prevent problems from happening. I’m putting new crank seals in and wouldn’t mind some advice on the rear one….

Flywheel has to come off to do the rear main.  Watch this video and do EXACTLY as he says to get the pan seals done right.

The guy that used to work on our tractors years ago removed the oil pan on a WD NF for us  and put it back on while it was on the tractor.

It can be done on the tractor. It will be frustrating.

One key iin addition to the other hints- remove front engine support. It pan looks like it should fit, but just keeps knocking off the front gasket. Use the short set of end gaskets for WD motor. Two sets are supplied in each pan gasket kit.

Can anyone confirm that front seal can be replaced without removing front timing cover?

I will be removing the engine to get to the clutch do to the possibility it is oil soaked…
Never pulled a flywheel off a 4 cylinder..

Have your belt cinched up tight. They are heavy. Bolt hole are not even spaced will only fit one way.
