My WD light switch is rusted out and broken. I would like to replace it, but for the time being would an automotive switch work? I don't plan on modifying the instrument panel as my plan is to return it to original. Has anyone here used another style of switch that is readily available and cheap? I am guessing it would work, but I am unsure as the amperage draw on the 6volt lamps. Any advice would be appreciated.

The problem is that the light switch is also your charge rate controller. By the time you made the modifications to use an aftermarket switch you would be just as well off to get a replacement switch from Steve at B&B or one of the other fine vendors on this forum.

Oh. I did not know that. I guess I will fix it the right way. Thanks for the info.
