The front wheel bearings on my WD are weeping grease, so I figure the seals need to be replaced. Is it as easy as repacking bearings on a trailer wheel?

I never repack any of my AC's front wheel bearings. I install a zerk on each and every hub I own and give them a few pumps every once in a while. Yeah all of the seals weep grease and have to be wiped clean once in a while. But yes, you would repack them as you would any other bearing; pack into the widest side till it oozes out the narrower side.
