What size disks did this originally come with? What size and shape is the shaft? I can buy 30 16" notched disks at the local TSC for $9.49 with a 1" and 1-1/4" square hole. That's supposed to be a good price, but it hurts to think about spending that much on a wore out patched up disk. Adam

I know the feeling Adam. The old JD disc I have is in much worse shape than yours. I just broke one of the discs in half when I cut a little too close to a pine tree in the back yard and hung a root. I think I may see if I can talk my dad into letting me use his 8" Athens disc harrow. He uses the 3 point harrow with the 2040 JD for the garden plowing duties now. Would be much cheaper than fixing mine.LOL! Looks like yours is all there. If the boxings and shafts are OK, i'd spend the money on some discs. You would have a good harrow.
