Hello, I bought a house about 6 months ago and it came with a very nicely restored WD tractor.  It's been totally gone thru by the previous owner.  This is my 1st tractor and it's a blast!

It has a back blade on the three point and I play with it smoothing my pea gravel driveway.  Yesterday I had the blade buried in the pea gravel and noticed the engine wouldn't stall when I clutched the tractor... The engine lugs down and the tractor just sits there, tires not spinning.  Seems odd to me, I would expect a tire to spin or the engine to lug down and die.  Should I adjust the clutch (s)?  How?

Andy, you most likely have either a WD or a WD45. (WD40 comes in an aerosol can!) Either way I would suspect that the hand clutch is the culprit and needs to be adjusted. But it could be foot clutch as well. I'm sure someone smarter than me will weigh in on this to help you diagnose & fix your problem. Good luck! Kip

DUH!  Sorry WD tractor!

I was using the hand clutch but I suppose either foot or hand could be the one slipping...

Engage your PTO and make the clutch slip again. If the PTO shaft is still turning at the same rate, it's probably your hand clutch that's the problem. If it's not turning, it's probably the main (foot) clutch.

You might have someone else observe, since it's hard to see the PTO shaft from the driver's seat.
