Noticed its worn quite a bit, its the bolt under belly where the pto surfaces from the innards. What hardness bolt shall I install? Thanks family. D

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this is a special bolt. It's been a long time, but I think I remember the bolt having a shoulder under the head.

It is a unique bolt & I believe it's called a shoulder bolt. The threaded section is smaller than the bolt portion. If the bolt is worn chances are the PTO connection is also egged out depending on how much PTO work the tractor has. Ray in Michigan used to machine the replacement connector and you simply cut off the old one & weld on his new one. I had mine done by a local machine shop. Hopefully, the stub shaft is good enough to not need replacement. Those bolts are still available, not sure of the engineering behind that.

I'm betting Lon has a pile of used ones. They are NOT a "shear-bolt". Get the correct bolt, new or used.

I wonder if a bolt of the correct thread diameter could be "bushed up"to bring it closer to the size of the "wallowed out" hole. Not the best solution but might help "tighten" things up some.
