Last fall the wc wouldnt start. No spark. Took off the magneto cleaned up the points and got spark. Doing some testing found it was sparking on all ports no matter where the rotor was.
Tried cleaning up cap and rotor, but no change. Conventional FBM of the 1940s - not sure the full number. Any suggestion? Or just a new cap? |

There has to be some serious carbon tracking inside the cap to enable the current to flow to all 'ports' at once.
I would replace both cap and rotor. |
