OK... neighbour has a creek to draw water from and uses a 'sprinkler' style pump as she need 50-60PSI to get it back up the hill to water the gardens, about 300' of garden hose. The pump does not like being 'dead ended', say to change hoses up top or replace hand nozzle with a oscillating fan unit. My 'idea' is to put an RV style 'water pressure regulator' between the out and in of the pump. Out of course goes up the hill as well .I have something similar for a PTO style pump for the D-14( I 've never used it...) So I buy the RV unit(45PSI), blow both ways and air goes through both ways..... hmmmm.... So now I've come to the 'well of knowledge'. Can anyone shed light on what we( me) really need. No easy way to turn power on/off so I thought 'bypass'. When the hose is closed up top, the water would 'recirculate' going 'out' to 'in' until hose waters the garden.... Thanks for any info ! Jay |

sounds like a plan.. TEE into the discharge...a RELIEF VALVE that opens and dumps back to the creek or suction side... you dont want to REGULATE the pressure, you want to DUMP the water when pressure reaches 50 psi...
something like this at WAL MART... dont know what your pump PSI is capable of ?? ![]() Edited by steve(ill) - Yesterday at 4:05pm |

What if you just made it simple and put a t or y in the line with a couple valves and open one to just dump out on the grass somewhere while your switching so you don't deadhead the pump. Hook the dump line to a sprinkler or something to get a little benefit.

Hay Steve , yeah that's what I want ! AmazonCanada has it... $45.00 !!!! oh well, I'll keep looking NOW that I know what to look for ! THANKS. Dan.. sounds like we could try that but something 'automatic' would be better....as pump gets 'rehosed' here, there, several times.Think 6 or 7 hoses(50=100') all over the place.....'can of worms' ?? THANKS |
