Gonna have a guard made up for the ca. Looks like there were 3 different types made for the d10 12/ca. Can I get some pics to see which will work best on a ca. Thanks

Fred, I plan on making some to sell. Almost finished with the D15-17 grill guards. Been real busy with paying work this year. Tracy Martin

Ca Ron & Tracey, It looks like that the steering arm on the CA may interfer with the grille guard that goes on the D-10 & D-12. How is that done differently?

Steve where did you get yours? I was at the Gray Tn. GOTO and there were several like that on several different make of tractors.

Dewayne, there should be enough clearance between the arm and the grille for a bracket. I have a model 8 loader on on this ca, so I think I will pattern the guard after the d10/12 guard that bolts onto the front casting. I can use the cultivator bosses on the ca casting, then run a bracket down to the side rails that mount the loader frames. Ron

CaRon, The diagram of the grill guard wouldn't work on a D10 or D12.The grill on a D10-12 is wider than the torque tube. The guard brackets have an offset in them. That way it can be fasten to tractor torque tube and front pivot bracket. That is the reason the guard is bolted together than welded. HTH Tracy Martin

Tracy, I did notice that about the brackets. The #8 loader side bars fasten to the torque tube/front pivot bracket making it a little wider than the grill. I'm thinking the straight guard brackets like in the diagram will fasten to the side bars with the sub frames. What are the grille guard densions? What size material is used for the guard and the brackets, if you don't mind me aking? I know a guy who knows a guy type of deal, is going to try to make me one. Any advice? Thanks Ron

Its been on the tractor ever since i can remember. My granddad got the tractor back in 1966. My uncle says he put the guard on because grandpa kept beating up the front end. I'm assuming he got the guard from the same dealer he purchased the tractor from. Here's a picture of her back in '72 resting by the bunk house. I love this pic. |
