What did a clockwise starter generator fit? What do you tell which direction it is set up to run?

Quite a few older garden tractors had starter generators. Some ran to a pulley on the front/flywheel of the motor and would be clockwise and some ran to a pulley on the rear of the motor (opposite of the flywheel) and would be counter clockwise. I need one for a 10 hp Kohler K241 that wasn't made with one.

  most are clockwise   cub cadet are counterclockwise?????????   which one  both are k241  been there done that
