I am looking for a pair of the big rims for a d17 and fenders don’t care if the rims have tires on them and would like the fenders to not have holes in them because it’s an FFA project.

Older D-17's came with 13 inch wide rims for 16.9 x 28 tires.

I thought there was only 2 sizes the 13-28 and the 14-28. And I measured my rims I’m pretty sure there 14 inches wide.

When using a piece of #9 wire bent on the ends to measure the rim width like a calipers, you have to allow for you are measuring the outside, not inside the beads. You might be right, but I still think it will be a 13 inch.

Hey Wheel shows 13" and 15" available, don't thing I've ever seen a 14-28" power adjuster. wheel. Like the doctor says, Allis mounted thousands of 16.9x28's ton 13" rims.

I think this is what is confusing you.

Tractor Rear Tire Sizing was revised at some point in the past.

See the Chart below, a 12" Rim is matched to a 13.6" Tire.

A 13" inch Rim is matched to a 14.9" Tire.

12-24     13.6-24
12-26     13.6-26
12-28     13.6-28
12-38     13.6-38
13-24     14.9-24
13-26     14.9-26
13-28     14.9-28
13-30     14.9-30
13-36     14.9-36
13-38     14.9-38
14-24     16.9-24
14-26     16.9-26
14-28     16.9-28

A-C (to my knowledge) never used anything but a 13 inch rim for 14.9 x 28's and 16.9 x 28's on any D-17 tractor. Does it match the tire makers recomendations ?? Nope. But they used ONE rim size instead of two.

If you find 15x28 rims I would get those. It might not be original Allis, but that's today's recomendations , but the tires sure fit nice. I have 16.9x28's on my WD45 and D17.
The WD45 has 15" rims and the tires are nice and wide, flat on the tread the flat on the sidewall. The D17 has more rounded tread and a curved sidewall becasue the rim is varrower and pulling in.
I think the new tires even say "Mount on 15" rim"
