This is an ebay store that has AC repair manuals on a CD with a PDF format, has any one used these? I'm curious to know if they are as good as they claim.

I see a greasey mouse and keyboard in my minds eye, not a folded  flat dog-eared greasey IT manual.

Never have but dad and I have both used the AGCO on-line parts manuals.  Not so much for at the time info, but random night before the big fix sort of stuff.  I would think that if you could print off the page(s) you needed they could get taken to the shop for at the time use and avoid the Mrs being mad about the computer gettnig greasy.

Yep, 'not fond of CD manuals. The company I work for went to all paperless service manuals and documentation. Everytime I work on something new, I print the manual out.
But, that doesn't actually address the origional question

I ordered some CD manuals for my British Bikes , most are just copies of origonal manuals someone scanned into PDF files . Quality on the ones I have is not real good. I now heard there is another outfit that has high quality scans , but i can work through what i have without spending more .
And the idea is to find the page you need , print it out and then ditch it at end of job and print whatever you need again later .

I took my HD5 Manual and made it into a PDF file for myself , and also took the parts manual and put that to disc for my own use.  ( when I worked at school they had a high speed copy machine that would scan to file , then just burned a disc from that file ) .

Not sure if it was that seller, but I bought a CD for wd and wd45 on eBay.  It's just a page by page scan of the original manual.  I printed it out and keep it in a 3 ring binder in the shop.  If a page gets messed up I can always print another.  Also downloaded it onto the computer to study at home.  Quality was OK and you can enlarge things for tired eyes.  I thought it was worth the price.

One of the problems with a PDF is that you decide to print three pages off to work on something. Then you figure out that you need two other pages. You have to go back to the house, and print two more pages. This can be pretty annoying if you have a problem with a tractor, and it is broken down 4 miles from home.

Those PDF's can be cheaper to buy on the front end, but when you consider expensive toner and paper, what are you gaining, after you've printed just half the manual?

FWIW, the scans that I've seen are not very good, even though I'm sure there are some decent ones out there.
