When I was working we kept it in a drum and the haz mat co. picked it up.  At the time green antifreeze was not considered a haz material and could be disposed of any way you wanted to.

I've always wondered that, too. I have a 5 gallon bucket of the used green stuff, but never knew where to take it.

Tested how?  Freeze protection or corrosion protection?  The freeze protection doesn't go away, corrosion protection expires in time.

CTucker, you are a genius!!

I take mine to a local recycling center.  I had to call several because most places will take oil but not coolant.  I was lucky enough to find one that did.

I put mine in whatever plastic containers I got, mixed with oil, tranny fluid, gas, water and take to recycle center, The kid always ask was is it, I say old oil, offload then go. It ain't MY problem......they get paid big $$ for the oils and paints and such, so I don't feel bad. I do feel bad when it goes on the ground here though.

Start with your local auto shop. Also try your local land fill...most likely they have a program for collection.

Please don’t dispose on the ground...used AF is loaded with heavy metals that can leech into the ground water and usually has fairly low pH depending on the age of it.

Wish you guys were closer to me, I'd take it off your hands. We use it in the bottom of our dump trailers in the winter to keep product from freezing in.

Scrap, coke, whatever may be wet and freeze to the bottom of the trailer.

guy I woked for this spring treats his dump boxes with it has a sprayer in the cab and each morning on the job spray a lite coating on box floor or onto box liner - keeps the dirt from freezing to box - as we were hauling trenching material from old sewer lines in city much of it was wet and without treating box you would have dirt frozen to metal

This wouldn't work for 99% of you because it can't be done with a septic tank.  Here in area served by Johnson County, Ks. Wastewater it is acceptable to put anti-freeze down your drain and it causes no problem in going through the  sewage treatment plant.  Go figure.
