To the Winter Solstice and shortest daylight for this year, 12/21
A little over 9 1/2 hours of Sunlight.

Yeah, it's like a countdown for me. Like to get past that "hump" so to speak. Hard for me to stay motivated when it gets dark so early

I’m with you. So hard to get enough done when you put in 9 hours at the day job plus almost an hour of commuting and have anything left to do something. Plus not seeing or being in the sun really saps my energy after a while.

i am a snowmobiler, but i countdown to the shortest day of the year also. just one of those little things in life to look forward to that makes each day great even when things get crappy

Changing clocks is a good thing. Helps in the morning. Gets the kiddies on the bus in better conditions. Invented for a reason years ago and still valid today. Lol.  Our days here get less than 9 hrs.

AGREE! Can’t imagine living in Maine where it gets dark at 4:00 this time of year! I get to work while still dark out, and no windows. If I have no errands to run, can get home with an hour or so before sunset. Truly demoralizes me.
