I'm thinking of doing the same to my Clark forklift with a Continental 4 cyl. I've been planning to buy a new carburetor like one for a D14 tractor and getting a suitable gas tank to put where the propane tank usually is mounted. The original gas tanks on these forklifts are not likely clean enough to do the job if they've been running on propane for decades. You shouldn't need much more once you disconnect the propane system.
