The turbo on my 7045 is starting to go bad and I want to replace it and found out that there were 2 kinds of turbos - Air Research and Rayjay. The Air Research is $600 new and the Rayjay is $1100 for a reman. Mine is equipped with the Rayjay, will I be able to replace it with an Air Reserach or do I have to put a reman Rayjay back on? TIA for any help/advice.

you will have to get different drain tube and oil pressure line to the turbo if you change it as they are different, and i am not sure on the exhaust elbow if that will fit from rajay to air research, i know i have done it but it has been a few years.

I put an air research TO4B 90-96 on my D21 (it is the same turbo as what the 7060 uses) all you need to change is the oil supply line, and the oil return line, everything else should bolt right up. Some places offer the line conversion kit and turbo together. Supposedly the air research turbo is a little bit better turbo than the Ray Jay too.
