Some time ago someone posted pics of buckets for trip loaders. I noticed there was a spring from the bucket to the loader. Mine has the places to attache a spring and I wondered what they were for. What is the reason for the springs and what can I use for the springs, garage door springs etc. Thanks Mike
Everything is impossible until someone does it! WD45-trip loader 1947 c w/woods belly mower, 1939 B, #3 sickle mower 1944 B, 2 1948 G's. Misc other equipment that my wife calls JUNK!

The spring returned the bucket to the latched position if you were quick about how you ran the controls. Usually it just gave the bucket a half way up angle so you would have to lower the bucket to get it latched again. Garage springs may be a little heavy for that application, but they are close.

Extension spring off an 8X7 garage door should be about right.
Why do today what you can put off til tomorrow.
