 Topic: Tractor B Tool Box

Bought a new tool box for the B Tractor that's when I realize that changing it is going to be some serious disassembling. I probably will be able to figure it on my own but I'm sure somebody has done this task already and could help me with a "short cut" if possible. I even thought about cutting it but that doesn't seem right. Maybe it is not as hard a job as it appears since it doesn't involve any thing heavy! Your experience will keep my from getting into trouble or do more work than is needed.

When I took the one off my C the only thing I removed was the starter and gas tank. I just loosened the hood strap. Spread it apart and slipped it in with lots of cursing since I pinched a few fingers.

i think you have to remove the steering wheel , and take the clamp off the top of the steering column post. You might have to loosen the steering box and move the column up an inch to get the wraparound box to slide down the column, oand over the post.

Yep; like Steve says. Best to remove the hood, gas tank, battery box/battery, steering wheel, throttle quadrant (and steering shaft support piece between the steering shaft and the post), the outer steering shaft tube and the bolts holding the tool box together. Its so much fun that I usually pull the steering box at the same time to clean it out, replace the seals, inspect it, and fill with fresh fluid (I use 140 wt lub) at the same time.

Some or at least one of those tool boxes required some modieficatiou to get them to fit.

Like Richard said, all tool box's/tank supports are not the exact same. I make my own and have three different patterns.
