Liquid filled gauges are nice...... but I don't think that one is supposed to be!

I don't have any tractors "new" enough for all those newfangled gadgets, but someone who splurges on such luxuries will chime in....

I bought one from Steiner and the needle fell off. I called them to let them know there were problems with the gauges. They sent me another one to try and the same thing happened. I didn't call them about it again because I didn't think it was their fault. Just defective foreign parts. There was someone on here awhile back that rebuilt these gauges but I don't remember who it was.

I had the EXACT same problem with mine. First the needle fell off, then the filled with fluid like yours until it built up enough pressure to pop the glass.

Here's a couple link to guys that repair the old original gauges.

Here's a topic with some pictures of a $30 generic gauge I bought instead. Still working 2 years later.

A few years back I got a "new" gauge that was supposed to be a "working"  traction booster gage. I can't remember were it was from. When I took a close look at it, it was nothing more than an engine oil pressure gage whit a different face and the adapter on the stem that wasn't even drilled to allow hydraulic pressure to get to the gage. Good thing to, as 3500+ PSI would have blown a 15 PSI gage to smithereens.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

I've been considering buying one of these gauges for my D10 myself. I know Steiner, Yesterday Tractor, and DJ's tractor parts all sell them. Does anyone have one any count? Or do they all come from the same place?

I believe that they all come form the same place. I had some rebuilt by Matt Folkers years ago. I have had one in the D19 for 5 years and it Still works and looks as good as when I put it in there. When I need more I will see if he can still rebuild them. They may be a little more money but I know I wont have a problem with them.

Sad part is this is just one part out of billions of parts that get made that don't last. Where's the quality control lol

I think one problem is to relabel a good 5000PSI American gauge would cost more than most guys would want to pay.

Another problem, in the picture,.... BOTH ignition keys are there !! Might be a good idea to take one and toss into top right drawer of your tool box.... they WILL pop out given enough time and rough furrows.......BTDT....

looks like she's discharging a little bit too. Bought a replacement gauge from Agco right after they became Agco, so far no problems. I don't know why they are so high. I have bought a 5-10000 psi gauge from NAPA to test hydraulic pressure for less than 30.00.

It sounds like these aftermarket gauges aren't worth fooling with. I may reach out to one of those guys about getting my old one rebuilt. They will a challenge, it looks really rough and I can't ever remember it working.

Thanks for all the info guys, this is a great site with a wealth of info and a great bunch of AC lovers. I am not sure how or when I am going to fix this, it would be great to have a working gage
