Torque on exhaust manifold bolts?

I just replaced the center section of the exhaust manifold on my 7060.  It had cracked twice, once a few years ago and I had it welded.  That repair held but it recently cracked again on the opposite side and I took it off in two pieces.  My question is, would it help to reduce the torque on the bolts when I give it a final tightening?  My book says 72 ft/lbs and that's what I've used in the past.

Seen alot of those manifolds crack in the middle section, never was really sure what caused it. I think the bolt holes in the manifold are oversized possibly for expansion room. Maybe the holes fill in with rust over the years and hinder the expansion process creating stress in that section of manifold.Curious to hear other opinions
