I use AC plugs, R45XLS in the 170 or long reach D17 and use R45S in WD45 and short reach D17.

I use autolite in a long reach D-17 head app65 . double platnum. They clear up nicely after sitting awaile.

ngk race plugs 3/4 projected tip or on stock ignitions sometimes autolite snowmobile plugs are the answere but i like the race plugs and the various heat ranges they come in.

I just bought some new old stock AC Fire Ring 45XL Spark Plugs on Ebay.

We run AC plugs in both of our 17's never had a problem ever.
