you lose some. Hooked the disc up to the new 185D for its maiden voyage today. Great smooth power, but it had a clinking noise in the tranny I was concerned about when I got it home. Well, two hours of discing and I guess the oil thinned out and now it sounds like the tranny could grenade at any time....sure wish the Ebay ad had stated it had noise in the rearend....

Yes but Eldon, if they would have told you it had a noise in the rearend you wouldn't have bought it and the previous owner would still own it! Sorry for your problem, hope it isn't too bad to fix.

Yep, been there done that. I feel for you Eldon. You know that old phrase well, "Buyer Beware". Still true today, even more so. Hope it works out for you though.

Happens a lot. Last summer I bought a WD. The seller failed to tell me the steering gears were worn out. He had the tires about half full of air and the gear housing full of thick grease. When I got the tractor home I aired the tires up. After going through the gears, hydraulic and other functions I took it out on the road, put it in 4th and opened it up. It started to wobble and shake so bad I almost lost it. Took it back to the barn, pulled the gear cover and discovered the grease tightly packed in an attempt to cover up the worn out gears. After replacing the gears twice before I found a good set it now works as it is supposed to. I'm sure the seller knew about this but failed to tell me.

I would love a 185D, and I like to buy them cheap with problems, how much do you want for her? Free Shipping to right? :-)

I've had similar problems. Got a one-eighty with transmissions problems. Lucky I discovered it had issues before paying for it, but didn't discount it enough for what it is eventually going to cost me to fix it right. Oh, well, at least I finally got the one-eighty I had been looking for. Dave
