If someone would post some "close up pictures" of power steering setups on WD45's (both factory and Char Lynn), it would be appreciated. I'm particularly interested in how the throttle and hydraulic control rods are modified to go around the hydraulic power unit. Pics of how the pump is mounted would also be helpful...........O_O

Why is there never time to do it right the first time, but always time to go back and fix it?

Osage,
I just went through this excercise for a factory power steering setup for my 45. Your hydraulic linkage should work without any modification. If you need the throttle linkage I know a guy who can make the special bellcrank and brackets for the throttle linkage to go around the hydraulic unit. Let me know if you are interested. RickM(MO) |

The above is all I have. I'm not sure if they are exactly what you're looking for, but I cannot take anymore pics of the tractor because I unfortunately no longer have it. On a small family dairy farm here and had to sell it because of the Dairy Crisis. But anyway, I hope they are of some help. |

Jay & Ed: Tx. Pics are just what I'm looking for. Got them saved on my hard drive.
Rick: Tx for the offer. I'll keep your post for reference. I'll probably just do it myself......that's part of the fun of it for me.

The larger unit is the factory and the smaller one is the Char-Lynn. The factory unit requires a different throttle bell crank and bracket to go around the large unit. I don't know much about the Char-Lynn but it looks like from the pictures that the throttle bell crank may work without modification but there is a bend in the throttle shaft to go around the power steering unit.

I guess I should have taken pictures when I replaced the pump on my 45's PS. I had the hood and rad. off so it would have shown how things were mounted.
