Does anyone have a Model G with "original" Choke Rod & Start Rod?

I'm wondering if these two items used the same diameter rod material.

Best regards,

Scott

On my 48 g they are both same diameter. Can't imagine Allis using a different type of steel. On my B I used gas welding rod and made some.

They are different diameters. I made and sold several sets several years ago. I don't think I have any wire stock in one or the other diameters.

It a great time to get wire for a rod for the G.
I used the wire that is used to support political signs they are placed all over the place before an election. I have found it in 2 sizes. LOL Bob

I have used those signs that are corrugated plastic to hold bolts when tearing down machinery,  cut a slit push bolts in & write location on back.  then you can clean & paint all at once.

Scott,

I made these for the G that I finished in July. The choke rod was 1/8" diam. and the starter rod 3/16" diam. I bought steel stock at Tractor Supply. Bob@allisdowneast
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not sure.

From memory I have to agree with Dick L.  I recall that the starter rod was thicker than the choke rod.  Made sense since the starter was a harder pull than the choke.
Good Luck!
