the shame of it is that is sat outside for years until we sold the cows. the weather didnt do the paint and decals any good, but now we keep it inside. we still use it to mow the old heifer and dry cow lots off. it works real good ....Jb

I have only seen the model 160 with a snap coupler / 3 pt hook up.Have never seen a 172 without the wheel assemblies. Have thought about converting one of my 172,s to a three point hook up.May be a little heavy, but with a tail wheel it should work. Anybody have a pic of a 172 or 184 with a 3 pt hitch. I believe one pictured in this post is a 160 but I could be wrong.

the one pictured is a little heavy it doesnt look like it but it makes the front end light on the wd45 wide front when you transport it. we have a 172 woods that has the wheel kit on it and i like to use it behind the wd45 narrow front...Jb

We had a brush hog exactly like this back in the 60's and it was a 5' model. We pulled it behind a D15. It was one heck of a mower. If you could get the front of the D15 over it, the brush hog would cut it. We had about 300# of weight hanging off the front end of the tractor too.

I just bought the 3pt 6 foot version of that mower for $300. Were could a guy find the main bar that bolts to the shaft and blades. There is a chunk broke off of mine enough to were I had to weld a block on to balance it so I could use it.

That is the very rugged 5' 160 model and I have a 3-pt. model also. Tough little cutter and I run mine behind a D15II equipped with a SC/3pt. adaptor. Break out the 6' Bush Hog for getting up against fence lines and can appreciate the ratchet type clutch on the 160 as it is a nice set-up to have.
If it sat for years you may want to check the large retainer nut is secured and the spring tension occasionally on the PTO adaptor to the gear box. Chain gaurd was an option on those so be careful if you are running it without chains or rubber on the front as those big heavy blades can really sling stuff at you . . . . . . .
