I want to swap mt large 1000rpm PTO for a 540/1000 PTO out of a 7040.
Any tips??? I got on AGCO parts and got the parts diagrams for both machines and it looks like i need to remove the PTO clutch down to the actual PTO shaft, correct? Any hints or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks everyone. |

Changing the PTO can be done like you have described. One thing I would do is use the extra plate in the clutch that the 8070 has.The 7040 uses 4 friction and seperator plates where the 8070 uses 5 and one more wave spring for the added horsepower.Just remove the large snap ring, add the extra parts, and then use the other groove for the snap ring.
