I want to swap mt large 1000rpm PTO for a 540/1000 PTO out of a 7040.
Any tips???
I got on AGCO parts and got the parts diagrams for both machines and it looks like i need to remove the PTO clutch down to the actual PTO shaft, correct?
Any hints or tricks would be appreciated.
Thanks everyone.

Changing the PTO can be done like you have described. One thing I would do is use the extra plate in the clutch that the 8070 has.The 7040 uses 4 friction and seperator plates where the 8070 uses 5 and one more wave spring for the added horsepower.Just remove the large snap ring, add the extra parts, and then use the other groove for the snap ring.
