Hello all,
I just picked up a what I believe to be a factory A-C adaptor to use 3-point implements with a snap-coupler tractor. It has a patent no. sticker on it and a wrning saying not to use a drawbar on the adaptor, but to use the tractor's drawbar. It fits my WD 45 perfectly, except the sway chains. Is it possible that this was designed for another model, D17, D19,etc. and I just have the wrong chains? See the pics below.

Nice find! Anti-sway setup is correct, but looks like the one for a D14 or D17 which has a narrower drawbar bail.

Thanks. I think I'll make a new tubular piece to fit my 45's drawbar support. Here's link to the patent: http://www.google.com/patents?id=pldaAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA1&dq=2814976&source=gbs_selected_pages&cad=1#v=onepage&q=&f=false |

Wouldn't it give you more sway control if the chains were longer and crossed to opposite sides ?

Does anyone have an idea what something like this is worth? A guy I know called me and he had one for his D-19 so he could use 3 point cultivator. He said he bought it new from Allis dealer and wants to sell it to me. Thanks

Around here a 45/D17 adapter will set you back $3-500. Sometimes you can find one at an estate sale for less, but you put a lot of time into going to auctions. |

Yes, it is for the D14 or early D17. I have one like it that came from someone that had a D14. I cut a couple of short pipe pieces to fit on either side of the tubular piece so that it works on my WD45 with the wider bail.
