Questions on 700 series garden tractors

I think they are.   The 716 that I have came originally with a 16 hp Kohler but it was retrofitted with a 16 hp Briggs.   I know between some of the older engines and the newer engines, commands for example, the height of the base of the engine to the centerline of the driveshaft is a hair different so that's something to doublecheck.  I retrofitted a 23 hp kohler command into a 7117 that had a 17 hp kohler kt17 twin in it, and one of the things that had to be done was to make a mounting plate to raise the engine up a 1/2 to get the driveshaft aligned properly.

As far as I can see, the 700 series frames are the same. I've looked at a whole pile of em' at Dales' show this year, and from what I can tell, its the exact same frame. Even the rear bolt on section where the gear box is located and back are the same. In any event, the 700's make awesome work machines. My 716H is a animal especially in the snow removal department. Its unstoppable with its AC Dozer blade and the aggresive ATV rear fatso's for the extra bite. I added a rear weight box, and look out here I come!
