Is a e gleaner motor a wd45 motor and an wd motor the same, as far as block and head? Will the e gleaner motor swap out with a wd motor?
Witch of the 3 motors has the most horses? Witch would be the best for pulling? |

I assume you are talking about a WD tractor? A WD is 200 CID the same as WC. WD45 is 226 CID, but WC/WD engines can use a WD45 crankshaft to equal the displacement of a 45 engine. Gleaner E is basically a D17 engine that is also a 226. Any of these engines will bolt into your tractor with the combine engine needing some minor tweaks to function properly. Gleaner E is most powerful of the three but if you are going to build it, a WD or WD45 engine can be built much stronger than a STOCK E engine. Of course you also have the option of building the combine engine as well. WD could have either a 3" "short head" or a 4" "tall head". All the later engines use the "tall" head. Properly machined either head is about as good as the other. What kind of class will you be pulling in? If it's just a stock or mildly modified stock class than the stock E engine should be enough. Good Luck. Kip

I'm pulling farm stock now, and seem to be the only one going by the rules. ( Pissed ) So we have antique and open gear I'd like to beat them in. I'm one of only two allis's competeing and would love to stick it to the rest of them.
