Took this video yesterday while mowing some grass down in a field that hasn't had a crop in 2 years. Used my 59 D17 and Allis model 80T sickle mower.

Jeff I would love to watch the video of your antique mower in operation. Can you post?

I have a model 7 in the weeds too but it needs some guards replaced and both tires fixed/replaced.

Those 80 series mowers could really do the job.  We did not sell too many since they came out near the end of our dealership.  They were really good though.
Good Luck!

Which worked better, the 80t or the 80r. Or was there a reason for each type.

We have the 80R, it has been completely rebuilt about 5 years ago by the old man, when he could walk, I have never used a better mower. And, yes, we really would like to see videos of your mower in action !!!!!
