A Perkins engine distributor. But old and new have same flywheel bell housing dimensions and such. Just different internal changes such as the crankshaft seals 2 piece vs later one piece and other changes. And new normally doesn't fit old! If repairing and as in your case rebuilding you still have to go by serial number of block and use parts made for that serial number motor.  Good Luck with it!

thanks jeff that makes me feel better anyways...well maybe i can find someone to swap cranks with and get the lip sealed crank so i can get this thing back together..i was just thinking if i get the crank situation worked out and then the flywheel housing wouldnt bolt up that would b terrible
