Were 18.4-38 tires on the D21 Series 1 a factory option ? If so does anyone know when they were made available ? Norm Swinford says they were put on D21's in his section on the Series 1 on page 99 of Allis Chalmers Farm Equipment 1914-1985. Trying to confirm this was during the first series .

I have the first piece of D-21 literature printed (dated Aug 1963) and the standard rear tire was 18.4 x 34 (8 ply) and optional was 24.5 x 32 (10 ply) or 24.5 x 32 (10 ply) Rice&Cane tires. Front tire std was 7.50x 20 and optional 11.00 x 16's. I know the 18.4 x 38's were available on the series 2's with the Xtra HP, but the 18.4 x 34 was still std equip on the series 2's.

Series 2's did....I cannot support that 38 inch option on a Series 1 with the info I have. Think about it...190's and 190XT's didn't have the 38 inch option until later in their build history, so why would the 105 HP D21 from 1963 to ?? I'm sure there are Series 1's that have 38's NOW, but did they when the tractor was built????

August 25-28, 2011 Here is the website: http://www.halfcenturyofprogress.org/
They do have several shuttle wagons if you have no other way to get around the grounds. A golf cart or UTV is alot nicer because you can go exactly were you want. They do have golf carts for rent.

My neighbour has a Series II with 34s on the rear. The tractor just does not look right with them...
