I know why. He dated it by YT's serial number list.

For that early of a 1934 he has the wrong radiator and hood. Wonder if he is seeing all the #'s in the serial? That would be a pretty low # but that's a pile of money for a WC.

Rfdeere, I see what you mean, their serial # list is completely wrong before 1938.

You should write to them over on YT mag and tell them they are wrong. Ask them why they would publish stuff so obviously in error. Let us know what Kim says.

Glenn, I don't know why you would say that. Fred told me you n' Kim are great friends. The Big "D" varified that to. She listens to all of your suggestions. Yer' kinda' tough on her aren't ya?. Harvey even mentioned one time somethin' bout' you and Deb going out to dinner with her. ?

Hey, it's on YT so it must be true! ;-)
Looks like he threw in all the buzz words, 1933, potato steel wheels. I think he missed Waukesha engine was exclusive if it was a 1933, and I don't think they made 144 of them.

I hate to think of all the miles I have put on my truck going on wild goose chases running down 1933 WC tractors. When I got there the serial # was ALWAYS way bigger than # 29, the owner would say "It has to be a 1933, I got the # from a serial # book." The only good thing about it gas was a whole lot less than $4.00 a gal. !!!!!!

I feel your pain Dale. While I've never searched for the elusive 33, I have started to ask the seller for the serial no. first thing. If the serial no. tells me it is the right year for me, I never even have to dispute their listing.

Larry, It could be like my wife's phone. My sister in law bought a package deal and sent a phone to my wife. If I look her number up it says Newnan,Ga. but she lives here in Illinois.

So which 33' is correct ? Black wheels or orange ? Allis Chalmers decal on frame or not ?

I believe no decal on the frame is correct but not sure on the wheel color.

The factory picture doesn't seem to have the ALLIS CHALMERS" on the frame. I can't tell from the picture what color the wheels are. I believe if the tractor came from the factory with spoked F&H wheels they were probably Orange. Some tractors that had dealer installed rubber tires could have gotten the rims shipped from F&H and they would have been black.
I think Lavern's tractor has a shift lever from a styled tractor. I believe that is the one I saw in Wis. at a Gathering at Barraboo.

I have a framed picture of one in my office with the spoked wheels in black and the F&H weights on it too sporting that all so rare flathead engine. It could be Laverns came from a calendar.

Maybe instead of black wheels, they could have been the dark green we hear about sometimes. The first set of 17"rims I got were painted the dark green. The black and white pic of the 33 looks like the U style wheel that was used on the early wide front WC's that were on rubber.
